Dr Jorn Baayen is Managing Director and Founder of PortfolioEnergy, specialising in algorithmic trading and optimisation for the Australian NEM and European power markets. His background spans research at Delft University of Technology and the University of Amsterdam, water systems optimisation for national flood defense works at Deltares, and power trading at Shell Energy. He serves on the technical steering committee of LF Energy RTC-Tools — the open-source optimisation framework PortfolioEnergy builds on — and advocates for algorithmic transparency for asset owners. Based in the Netherlands with a regular presence in Australia.
