Anya Krol is a BESS engineer and engineering leader with close to a decade of experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems and 18 years in the power industry. She has worked across almost every stage of the BESS asset lifecycle – from technical specifications and contract negotiations through to project delivery and operations.
Most recently, Anya established and led a renewables engineering capability, building the team and putting in place engineering frameworks, processes and ways of working to support the integration and operation of utility-scale BESS assets. Prior to this, she worked in consulting, owner’s engineering and project delivery roles, supporting owners, developers and suppliers in delivering utility-scale BESS projects.
Having worked from both the technology supplier and asset owner perspectives, Anya has a particular interest in the practical intersection of engineering, operations and commercial decision-making. She is passionate about building engineering capability, improving asset performance, and helping technical decisions made during development translate into reliable, efficient operation throughout the life of the asset.
